Tour Down Under: January

Staged in January every year, this major event attracts the 18 best cycling teams in the world to compete in locations within the Adelaide Hills and South Australia.

Uraidla and Summertown Show: February

The Uraidla and Summertown Show is a unique Hills celebration and a great showcase of local hills produce and talent.

Adelaide Hills Harvest Festival: April

Oakbank Easter Horse Racing Carnival: Easter

Located in South Australia's Adelaide Hills racing country, Oakbank is home of the Oakbank Racing Club, a club which races just twice annually, Easter Saturday and Monday.....since 1876.

Bay to Birdwood: September

Regularly attracting over 1500 entrant vehicles, this iconic major event is held annually, alternating between the traditional 'Run' (for vehicles manufactured pre 1955) and the 'Classic' for vehicles manufactured post 1955 and at least thirty years old. The Run is held in odd numbered years.

The Classic Adelaide Rally: November

Started in 1997, the Classic Adelaide Rally is now one of the world’s greatest rallies where cars from bygone eras race against the clock on winding hills roads which are closed for the event.

Lobethal Christmas Lights: December

Each Christmas since the mid 1940s, the Adelaide Hills town of Lobethal lights up in a dazzling display of Christmas cheer and festivity. More than 250,000 people visit Lobethal each year to see this wonderful display.

Lobethal Grand Prix 1939


Lobethal was the host town for the 1939 Australian Grand Prix motor race won by A. G. Tomlinson driving an MG. Adelaide had to wait until 1985 to host the event.
