Welcome to Bishops Adelaide Hills - a 300 acre (120 ha) heritage property owned by the Bishop family since 1871. Bishops Adelaide Hills is a fully operational cherry orchard which offers guests the chance to stay in two fully restored, heritage houses. With its location just 30 minutes from Adelaide, guests are able to escape to the beauty and tranquillity of the countryside yet remain close enough to everything they need.

Our orchard is located at 933 Lobethal Road, Basket Range - look for the Bishop Cherries signs on the roadside. Sales from  Christmas into January generally from 11 am to 4 pm; other times by appointment. Also sales of Cherry Jams, Cherry Nougat, Chestnut Vinegar and Marble Hill Wines (grown on family vineyards at Basket Range).

The Waterfalls


Enjoy the whole property as your private estate. Explore the fascinating Adelaide Hills and all of its attractions, only 30 minutes away.

The Waterfalls is nestled in its own secluded area of the larger working farm, colourful gardens merge seamlessly with the orchards, native forest and pasture. Walk the kilometres of paths and tracks, up hill and down dale, through fields and forests, beside spring-fed creeks and duck dotted ponds, past neat cherry orchards and groves of exotic trees. Observe the myriad of bird life - from wrens and finches, to parrots, magpies, kookaburras, owls and eagles. Spot the kangaroos, possums, echidnas and koalas. Apart from the native fauna, your only neighbours are the friendly cattle.

The Retreat - Basket Range


Located on the property's eastern boundary with views across the valley, Henry's is a fully restored Federation cottage (built in 1902-03), offering luxury country style accommodation suitable for a couple. 

Featuring panoramic views from its wide balcony and large sunroom, Henry's also offers easy access to the scenic, private walking trails on the property which provide the perfect opportunity for nature lovers to enjoy the flora and fauna. Complete with a large country eat-in kitchen, Henry's also provides guests with an open log fireplace, a luxurious bathroom with double shower and separate double spa bath, a queen-sized bed, digital television and DVD and CD players. All linen is provided.

HOW TO GET TO BISHOPS ADELAIDE HILLS

There are four routes to Basket Range from Adelaide and each one is worth the scenic drive alone - whether travelling via the Greenhill Road through Uraidla, the Old Norton Summit Road along Third Creek, the New Norton Summit Road past the spectacular Morialta Falls or via the SE Freeway to Crafers and through the Piccadilly Valley to Basket Range, all are a great way to see Adelaide Hills’ scenery.
