Bishops Adelaide Hills is located just a short drive away from an exciting array of local boutique wineries, pubs, quality restaurants, farmers markets, arts and craft shops, gardens, parks and other tourist attractions.

Many of our guests come regularly to enjoy the local annual events such as the gourmet food and wine festivals, the Oakbank Races, the classic car rallies and the world renowned Tour Down Under.
 

Even the cultural events held in Adelaide itself are easily accessible only half an hour away.
 

Hahndorf

From Basket Range, a stunning 20 minute drive through this magnificent part of the Adelaide Hills will take you to the historic German settlers village of Hahndorf. Home to the legendary artist Sir Hans Heysen, Hahndorf abounds with eateries, pubs, museum, gift, clothing and souvenir shops.

Mt Lofty Summit

A 15-minute drive will take you to the lookout at Mt Lofty Summit which offers unrivalled views of the city of Adelaide, the opportunity to learn about the history of the area and a Visitor Information Centre. There is also a café and licensed restaurant.

Cleland Conservation Park and Wildlife Park 

Nearby you can cuddle a koala at Cleland Wildlife Park, which offers a close to nature experience of Australian birds, animals and flowers, and walking trails to Waterfall Gully and Eagle-on-the-Hill.

Mr Lofty Botanic Garden

The Mt Lofty Botanic Garden is reached from the Summit Road or Sprigg Road in the Piccadilly Valley. It showcases a magnificent collection of native and exotic plantings beneath towering Stringybark trees.

Adelaide Hills Produce and Wares markets

During weekends, the Adelaide Hills come alive with local growers markets held in many towns. You can buy fresh locally grown produce and enjoy arts and crafts as you meander through the many stalls.

Melba’s Chocolate Factory

Visit the popular Melba’s at Woodside and delight in their locally produced chocolates and confectionary. Next door is the world-famous Woodside Cheese Wrights.

Stirling and Aldgate

A popular hills townships, Stirling and Aldgate offer art and craft shops, a myriad of cafes, pubs and restaurants, heritage houses and beautiful gardens and is only a 15 minute drive from Basket Range.

Enjoy a game of golf in the local golf clubs at Oakbank, Piccadilly (Mt Lofty Golf Club) or Echunga.

 

HOW TO GET TO BISHOPS ADELAIDE HILLS

There are four routes to Basket Range from Adelaide and each one is worth the scenic drive alone - whether travelling via the Greenhill Road through Uraidla, the Old Norton Summit Road along Third Creek, the New Norton Summit Road past the spectacular Morialta Falls or via the SE Freeway to Crafers and through the Piccadilly Valley to Basket Range, all are a great way to see Hills’ scenery.
